About Village Restaurant

Nestled in the heart of Denton, North Carolina, Village Restaurant offers a comforting taste of classic American dining with a Southern twist. This family-owned gem, serving the community since the 1980s, stands out for its hearty plates and warm, welcoming atmosphere. From grilled salmon to the beloved chicken strip plate, each dish feels thoughtfully prepared, showcasing a balance of traditional flavors and home-style cooking.

The menu is both diverse and inviting, catering to casual diners and avid foodies alike. I was particularly drawn to the mesquite and lemon pepper grilled chicken plates—each bite tender and infused with smoky, citrusy notes that highlight the kitchen’s care and skill. The hamburger steak and BBQ plates bring back nostalgic comfort, while the fresh brewed coffee and classic desserts, like pecan pie and deli cheesecake, round out the experience with genuine Southern charm.

One cannot overlook the glowing reviews from locals: the burgers, though straightforward, satisfy with generous portions of crispy curly fries, and the culinary creativity shines through in options like the grilled chicken Caesar wrap and hearty chicken quesadilla. The hush puppies and sides like pinto beans and broccoli with cheese are consistently served hot, underscoring the restaurant’s attention to quality and detail.

What truly elevates Village Restaurant is its balance between down-home cooking and dedicated service. Friendly staff and a clean, inviting space reflect a place where food is both a pleasure and a tradition. It’s the kind of spot where you can gather with friends or family, expecting to leave with a full plate and a fulfilled spirit.

For anyone seeking authentic Southern flavors wrapped in classic American fare, Village Restaurant stands as a vibrant pillar in Denton’s culinary scene—a bit of history served fresh daily and a must-visit for residents and travelers alike.

Just a great little place. Great burgers, clean facility and friendly staff

This place has every kind of food you could want! Every time I go in I order something completely different. There can be 5 of us at a table and all have food that looks like it all came from a different restaurant! Their kitchen is amazing! My favorite right now is the grilled chicken Caesar wrap! But I like the fried okra and pimento cheese the breakfast sandwich on croissant is yum and I saw someone order a chicken quesadilla the other day it was huge and looked good so I’m getting that next. And not to mention the family has owned this since the 1980s!!! Nothing to take for granted. It’s the best place for a foodie in Denton!

Arrived for lunch and found a table right away. We were greeted quickly and gave our drink order. We each had a burger which was well done and had gazillions of curly fries with it. Burgers were basic but reasonably good for a well done burger. Waitstaff was efficient and friendly.

We live in Southern Pines, and hope to relocate someday to Denton, NC. We have extremely close friends who live in Denton, and one thing we always want to include is The Village Restaurant. Great Food! Great Service! Great Prices! Other restaurants should take a lesson on how to run a restaurant that exceeds every customers expectations. We highly recommend The Village Restaurant for down home cooking, where you step back in time to get that thought to be lost art of Southern dining of yesteryear!!!

I got pinto beans and brocolli and cheese. Both came out hot and were delicious. Hush puppies or choice of bread came with the meal. Drink was also included.

This is a typical Meat and three restaurant but so much better than the usual ones I frequent. The servers know their customers by name and don't mind razzing them in a friendly way. I had not eaten all day so I went "fresh' BBQ with Texas Slaw (yes Texas) and white beans. It was all really good. When I asked the server what Texas slaw was she said 'its really sweet'.....we have red and white slaw too. I went Texas since I have been to Texas yet never heard of nor seen Texas slaw. It was really sweet and I am not sure I'd get it again but it was definitely unique. I like unique. The BBQ was fresh. The sauce was on the side and was vinegar based. The white beans were piping hot and good as well. My travel partner got the 3 veggie plate and liked it. Their cornbread is different. Not bad. Just different. Almost like cornbread and cornpone had a pastry baby.
